Sustainable Success Nudge from Your Future Self:
💬 “Your perspective creates your possibilities.”

This week: Before reacting to a situation, ask yourself: “What level of consciousness am I standing in right now?”
That awareness alone can change everything.

Hi Melinda,

In my book (and a few messages ago) I introduced you to a framework that I return to again and again: the 4 Levels of Consciousness: To Me. By Me. Through Me. As Me.

I go deeper into them in Sustainable Success, Chapter 2 — but today, I want you to not just read about them… I want you to experience them.

Try this simple exercise:

Think of a situation you’re facing in your business or life right now.
👉 It could be a project you’re working on.
👉 It could be something that feels stuck or frustrating.
👉 It could be a challenge you’ve been circling around.

Now imagine there’s a quadrant taped on your floor with four squares. Step into each one, one at a time. See the same project, frustrating situation, or challenge from each of the 4 levels.

When I did this exercise,I didn’t just picture the boxes - I literally took painter’s tape and made the quadrant on the floor. Then I stepped into each square, one at a time. There was something profound about not just thinking through this exercise, but living it in my body. Moving from square to square made it easier to see, think, and act differently.

If you’re willing, I highly recommend tapping out your own quadrant and walk through each of the squares:

  1. To Me.
Ask: How do I see this situation if life is happening to me?
Notice the thoughts you have. What emotions come up?  What actions (or inaction) do you take (or not take) at this level?

  2. By Me.
    Step into the next square.
Ask: How do I see this same project or situation if it’s all up to me to make it happen?
What thoughts come up from this perspective? What emotions? Actions? Inactions?
  3. Through Me.
    Now step again.
Ask: What shifts if I let this flow through me instead of forcing it?
What thoughts come up from this perspective? What emotions? Actions? Inactions?
What would I hear, sense, or notice differently?
  4. As Me.
Finally, step into the last square.
Ask: What if there’s no separation at all — what if this is simply an expression of who I am?
How does it feel to rest here? What opens up?

You don’t need to force a “right answer.”
The power is in noticing.
Noticing where you’ve been standing.
And noticing how the situation changes when you consciously choose a different level.

👉 Respond to this message and tell me about a moment you chose flow over force. I’d love to hear it.

With joy,
Melinda

P.S. If you tape out the quadrant on the floor, hit reply and send me a selfie — I’d love to see you experiencing it in action.
